How to Register for Prius Prime Apps

Prius Prime apps are a collection of apps within the Entune® App Suite app that allow you to enhance your Prius Prime ownership experience. When your Prius Prime is equipped with Prius Prime apps, you will have access to the following apps: Remote Charge Management, Charging Station Map, ECO Dashboard, Remote Climate and Vehicle Finder. Prius Prime apps are supported on select iPhone® and Android phones.

Prius Prime vehicles equipped with Prius Prime apps include a complimentary three-year trial of these apps. After the complimentary trial ends, you must renew your Safety Connect® service to continue to use these apps.

Follow the steps below to register for Prius Prime apps.

  1. Download the Toyota Entune® App Suite app from your phone’s app store (The App StoreSM for iPhone® and Google Play for Android phones) to your smartphone
  2. Open the Entune® App Suite app on your phone
  3. Touch Sign Up
  4. Input your First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Password, and VIN, and then touch Sign Up to submit information
  5. You can now link third-party accounts such as Pandora® to your Entune® App Suite account. After linking third-party accounts, touch Back.
  6. Touch Set Service Level to register for Prius Prime apps
  7. A prompt will appear informing you that you an active Safety Connect® subscription is needed to use Prius Prime apps. Touch OK to close message.
  8. To activate Safety Connect®, call 1-800-331-4331 and follow the prompt for Safety Connect®. When activating Safety Connect®, request the Safety Connect® Customer Care agent to provide you with your unique Safety Connect® Contract ID. This Safety Connect® Contract ID is necessary to complete Prius Prime apps registration.
  9. Select your Prius Prime apps service level
    1. None, if you do not wish to register for Prius Prime apps
    2. Partial, if you wish to register for Remote Charge Management and Remote Climate
    3. All (except ECO Dashboard), if you wish to register for Remote Charge Management, Remote Climate, Charging Station Map, and Vehicle Finder
    4. All, if you wish to register for all Prius Prime apps
  10. Input your Safety Connect® Contract ID and then touch Save to complete registration

How to Install Entune® App Suite on Your Multimedia System

To use Charging Station Map in your vehicle, you may need to download the Entune® App Suite app to your vehicle’s multimedia system.

Follow the steps below to download Entune® App Suite to your vehicle’s multimedia system.

  1. Press MENU on the vehicle’s multimedia system faceplate
  2. Touch App Suite
  3. If the Entune® App Suite apps (e.g., Pandora®) appear, Entune® App Suite has already been downloaded to your vehicle’s multimedia system and is ready to use. You may need to swipe to the next screen to see the Charging Station icon.
  4. If the Entune® App Suite apps do not appear, you will need to download Entune® App Suite to your vehicle’s multimedia system
  5. Make sure your Bluetooth® wireless technology is paired with your vehicle and connected
  6. Open the Entune® App Suite on your smartphone and make sure you are signed in. A gray Entune® screen with a red Disconnect button at the bottom should appear on your smartphone. This indicates that Entune® App Suite is connected to your vehicle’s multimedia system.
  7. A prompt should appear on the vehicle’s touch-screen stating that an Entune® App Suite update is required. Touch Now to start the download process.
    1. If no prompt appears, press MENU on the faceplate and then touch App Suite
    2. The Entune® App Suite screen will appear, and a message providing more information on Entune® App Suite will appear. Touch OK to close message.
    3. Touch Update to start the download process
  8. After the download process completes, touch Install to install the app on your vehicle’s multimedia system
  9. A message will appear indicating Entune® App Suite apps will not be available during installation. Touch Continue to complete installation.
  10. Once installation is complete, touch OK. The Entune® App Suite screen will now appear.

Remote Charge Management

Remote Charge Management

Remotely control certain vehicle charging functions from your smartphone.

The Remote Charge Management App allows you to initiate a vehicle charge remotely when it is plugged in to a charging station or at home. It can also provide a real-time snapshot of the current battery state of charge. You can also change your charge timer and pre-climate settings (if they have already been set).

Perform a Charge Now Request

Follow the steps below to initiate a Charge Now request from your smartphone.

  1. Ensure vehicle is securely plugged in to a power source
  2. From your smartphone, touch the Charge Management icon on the Entune® App Suite app
  3. Enter your 4-digit passcode. On the first use of one of these Prius Prime apps on your smartphone, you will be requested to create and confirm a 4-digit passcode.
    1. If you have forgotten your 4-digit passcode, incorrectly entering your 4-digit passcode five times will delete the 4-digit passcode you created and sign you out of the app
    2. Open Entune® App Suite app on your smartphone and sign in with your Entune® App Suite credentials (email address and password)
    3. When you open one of the Prius Prime apps, you will be requested to create and confirm a new 4-digit passcode
  4. Touch the Charge Now button. The app will show the request is being sent to the vehicle. Please note that this process can take between 30 seconds to two (2) minutes. Time will vary based on the Internet connectivity strength (cellular, Wi-Fi) of your smartphone and the cellular signal strength of where your vehicle is parked.
  5. Now Charging confirmation with animation will appear on the screen
  6. Even though the animation on the battery indicates the battery is charging, the information displayed on the screen is static. If you wish to see the current state of charge or update the Remaining Charge Time, touch the refresh icon (circular arrow).
  7. Upon successful completion of the vehicle's battery charge, the screen will show a completed battery charge, along with the estimated Current Range

Edit Next Departure Time

Follow the steps below to initiate a Charge Now request from your smartphone.

  1. Ensure vehicle is securely plugged in to a power source
  2. From your smartphone, touch the Charge Management icon on the Entune® App Suite app
  3. Enter your 4-digit passcode. On the first use of one of these Prius Prime apps on your smartphone, you will be requested to create and confirm a 4-digit passcode.
    1. If you have forgotten your 4-digit passcode, incorrectly entering your 4-digit passcode five times will delete the 4-digit passcode you created and sign you out of the app
    2. Open Entune® App Suite app on your smartphone and sign in with your Entune® App Suite credentials (email address and password)
    3. When you open one of the Prius Prime apps, you will be requested to create and confirm a new 4-digit passcode
  4. Touch >next to Next Departure Time
  5. Touch Set Departure Type and then select either Charge Only or Charge and Pre-Climate
  6. Adjust the date and time for when you would you like your next departure to be and then touch Set
  7. You will be asked to confirm your next departure time. Touch Yes to confirm.
  8. A confirmation message will appear. Touch OK to close the message.
  9. The Remote Charge Management screen will appear with your set next departure time shown

Charging Station Map

Search for charging stations near you

There are two ways to use the Charging Station Map: in your vehicle, using the multimedia system's touch-screen through your Entune® App Suite connection, or on your smartphone, with the Prius Prime apps. Using the Charging Station Map application, you can search for charging stations near you, see each station's charging capability (e.g., Level 1 (120V), Level 2 (240V), etc.), and view additional information such as charging station hours of operation, phone number, and number of chargers (where available). You can also map the route to the station using your vehicle’s or smartphone's mapping guidance system.

The Charging Station Map application will work with your navigation system to route you directly to the charging station.

Find a Charging Station With the Vehicle’s Multimedia System

Follow the steps below to find a charging station using the in-vehicle Charging Station Map.
  1. Press MENU on the faceplate
  2. Touch App Suite
  3. Touch Charging Station (you may need to swipe to the next screen to see the Charging Station icon)
  4. A list of nearby charging stations will appear, along with each charging station’s distance from current location, address and charging station type (Level 1 – 120V, Level 2 – 240V, or multiple types)
  5. Touch a station on the list to see hours of operation
  6. Touch Map and then touch Go. To start guidance, touch OK.

Find a Charging Station on Your Smartphone

Follow the steps below to find a charging station on your smartphone.

  1. From your smartphone, touch the Charging Station Map icon on the Entune® App Suite app
  2. Enter your 4-digit passcode. On the first use of one of these Prius Prime apps on your smartphone, you will be requested to create and confirm a 4-digit passcode.
    1. If you have forgotten your 4-digit passcode, incorrectly entering your 4-digit passcode five times will delete the 4-digit passcode you created and sign you out of the app
    2. Open Entune® App Suite app on your smartphone and sign in with your Entune® App Suite credentials (email address and password)
    3. When you open one of the Prius Prime apps, you will be requested to create and confirm a new 4-digit passcode
  3. A map will appear. The vehicle icon represents your vehicle’s location. The blue dot represents your smartphone’s location. Charging station icons on the map represent nearby charging stations.
    1. Charging station icons labeled “1” represent Level 1, or 120V charging stations
    2. Charging station icons labeled “2” represent Level 2, or 240V charging stations
    3. Charging station icons labeled “M” support both Level 1 (120V) and Level 2 (240V) charging stations
  4. Select a charging station icon to see its name. Touch the “i” icon next to the charging station to get more information for that charging station, such as hours of operations or to map to that charging station using your smartphone’s preinstalled navigation map.
  5. You can also see a list of nearby charging stations by touching the list icon button at the top left-hand side of your smartphone’s touch-screen

ECO Dashboard

Have fun while tracking how efficiently you’re driving with the ECO Dashboard App.

Using your compatible Android smartphone or iPhone® you have the ability to monitor your vehicle’s EV Efficiency, ECO Driving Score, and ECO Challenge performance and ranking compared to other users.

Using ECO Dashboard

Follow the steps below to understand how to use ECO Dashboard on your smartphone.

  1. From your smartphone, touch the ECO Dashboard icon on the Entune® App Suite app
  2. Enter your 4-digit passcode. On the first use of one of these Prius Prime apps on your smartphone, you will be requested to create and confirm a 4-digit passcode.
    1. If you have forgotten your 4-digit passcode, incorrectly entering your 4-digit passcode five times will delete the 4-digit passcode you created and sign you out of the app
    2. Open Entune® App Suite app on your smartphone and sign in with your Entune® App Suite credentials (email address and password)
    3. When you open one of the Prius Prime apps, you will be requested to create and confirm a new 4-digit passcode
  3. The ECO Dashboard screen will appear
  4. You will be able to view your Last Drive Fuel Consumption and ECO Driving Score
  5. You will also be able to access a summary of your historical Fuel Consumption performance and current ranking
    1. Touch the > next to Fuel Consumption to see historical Fuel Consumption performance and touch the > next to Ranking to see Fuel Consumption Ranking
    2. To return to the main ECO Dashboard screen, touch Back
  6. You will also be able to access a summary of your historical ECO Driving Score performance and current ranking
    1. Touch the > next to ECO Driving Score to see historical ECO Driving Score performance and touch the > next to Ranking to see ECO Driving Score Ranking
    2. To return to the main ECO Dashboard screen, touch Back
  7. Touch ECO Challenge to see which ECO Challenge trophies you have earned. Touch Back to return to the main ECO Dashboard screen.

Share Your ECO Dashboard Performance to Facebook or Twitter

Follow the steps below to share your ECO Dashboard performance to Facebook or Twitter.

  1. From your smartphone, touch the ECO Dashboard icon on the Entune® App Suite app
  2. Enter your 4-digit passcode. On the first use of one of these Prius Prime apps on your smartphone, you will be requested to create and confirm a 4-digit passcode.
    1. If you have forgotten your 4-digit passcode, incorrectly entering your 4-digit passcode five times will delete the 4-digit passcode you created and sign you out of the app
    2. Open Entune® App Suite app on your smartphone and sign in with your Entune® App Suite credentials (email address and password)
    3. When you open one of the Prius Prime apps, you will be requested to create and confirm a new 4-digit passcode
  3. The ECO Dashboard screen will appear
  4. Touch Share next to your Last Drive information and then select Facebook or Twitter to share on your social media account
  5. A screen will appear showing you how your ECO Dashboard information will be shared. Touch the text box to add a personal message to share. Touch Share to post your information.
  6. A confirmation message will appear. Touch OK to close.

Remote Climate

Remote Climate

Remotely activate climate control from your smartphone.

From your compatible Android smartphone or iPhone®,  you have the ability to remotely activate the climate control system in your vehicle.

Follow the steps below to turn on the climate control system from your smartphone. Doors MUST be locked prior to engaging the Remote Climate app on your smartphone.

  1. Launch the Entune® App Suite app on your smartphone
  2. Touch the Remote Climate icon on the Entune® App Suite app
  3. Enter the 4-digit passcode. On the first use of one of these Prius Prime apps on your smartphone, you will be requested to create and confirm a 4-digit passcode.
    1. If you have forgotten your 4-digit passcode, incorrectly entering your 4-digit passcode five times will delete the 4-digit passcode you created and sign you out of the app
    2. Open Entune® App Suite app on your smartphone and sign in with your Entune® App Suite credentials (email address and password)
    3. When you open one of the Prius Prime apps, you will be requested to create and confirm a new 4-digit passcode
  4. There are three temperature settings to remotely activate. The default temperature setting is the LAST IN-CAR SETTING. You can also swipe the temperature marker on the dial to the left for MAX A/C and to the right for MAX HEAT.
    1. If desired, you also have the option to touch the Front Defrost and Rear Defrost icons to remotely activate those defrost settings
  5. After you have selected your temperature and defrost preferences, touch Turn On Climate to activate the vehicle's climate control system
  6. A warning screen will then prompt a response. Touch OK to confirm the request.*
  7. The app will show the request is being sent to the vehicle. Please note this process can take between 30 seconds to two (2) minutes. Time will vary based on the Internet connectivity strength (cellular, Wi-Fi) of your smartphone and the cellular signal strength of where your vehicle is parked.
  8. Remote Climate will activate the climate control for up to a 10-minute period and will then automatically shut off. This time can be monitored using the countdown timer on the app screen. If additional climate control activation is desired, the app can be reengaged for additional 10-minute intervals.

*Do not initiate Remote Climate with people or pets in the vehicle. Even when the system is in use, the internal temperature may reach a high or low level due to such features such as automatic shutoff. Children and pets left inside the vehicle may suffer heatstroke, dehydration or hypothermia, or death or serious injury. For more information, consult your Owner's Manual.

Vehicle Finder

View a map of your vehicle's location.

The Vehicle Finder App allows you to view your vehicle's last known location and provides directions to navigate to its location.

Follow the steps below to view a map of and get directions to your vehicle’s last known location.

  1. Launch the Entune® App Suite app on your smartphone
  2. Touch the Vehicle Finder icon
  3. Enter the 4-digit passcode. On the first use of one of these Prius Prime apps on your smartphone, you will be requested to create and confirm a 4-digit passcode.
    1. If you have forgotten your 4-digit passcode, incorrectly entering your 4-digit passcode five times will delete the 4-digit passcode you created and sign you out of the app
    2. Open Entune® App Suite app on your smartphone and sign in with your Entune® App Suite credentials (email address and password)
    3. When you open one of the Prius Prime apps, you will be requested to create and confirm a new 4-digit passcode
  4. A map will display on your smartphone showing your vehicle's last known location as well as your current location
  5. The blue dot is your phone’s current location. The vehicle icon is the last known location of your vehicle.
  6. Touching the vehicle icon will show your vehicle’s current address (if available)
  7. Touch Get Directions, and the app will plot the directions to your vehicle’s location from your current location using your smartphone’s preinstalled navigation map.

Location services must be activated on smartphone for Vehicle Finder to function. The location shown will be the last known location at time of vehicle ignition off. If your vehicle's ignition is turned off in an area without GPS coverage (e.g., underground parking structure), the application may not be able to update the GPS location and previous last known location will be shown.
