Toyota Gazoo Racing makes its presence known in Formula DRIFT as Fredric Aasbø gives GR Supra a victory in its debut race in St. Louis. Aasbø added a second victory of the season at Irwindale, becoming just the second driver to score two victories in the 2020 season. He finished fourth in the point standings. Ken Gushi also had a new Toyota GR Supra for the season. He had two final-eight finishes, including one at the season-closing race at his home track—Irwindale Speedway.
Well-respected U.S. tuner Papadakis Racing has earned championships and achieved records across several sport compact racing disciplines. When Toyota announced the return of the GR Supra sports car nameplate to the model lineup, they were one of the first to take on modifying the Supra’s B58 inline 6-cylinder engine for racing, specifically for Formula DRIFT.
Belonging to one of the world’s fastest-growing motorsports categories, with competitions around the globe, the GR Supra GT4 is ready to hit the ground running. This class of cars is composed mostly of what can be referred to as track day cars, which are factory-built race cars available to the public. Our GR Supra GT4 features a lightweight steel body with an inline 6-cylinder that produces 430 horsepower and a 7-speed sport automatic transmission. Inside, a high-strength roll cage, FIA-standard racing seat with 6-point harness, and a carbon-fiber instrument panel and steering wheel specifically designed for GT4 competition help take on races that can vary anywhere from two to four hours.
