This system detects the conditions of the front passenger seat and activates or deactivates the devices for the front passenger. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) supplements conventional cruise control with a vehicle-to-vehicle distance control. In vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode, the vehicle automatically accelerates or decelerates in order to maintain a set following distance from vehicles ahead. Press the ON/OFF button to activate the cruise control. The Dynamic Radar Cruise Control indicator will come on. Press the button again to deactivate it.

Prius PHV-2015-{{imageAltName}}ECO Drive Mode indicator

In this mode, the torque corresponding to the accelerator pedal depression amount can be generated more smoothly than it is in normal conditions, and the operation of the air conditioning system (heating/cooling) will be minimized. When the ECO MODE switch is pressed, the ECO MODE indicator comes on.

The Hybrid System Indicator displays the hybrid system operating condition and provides eco-friendly driving assistance in accordance with the driving conditions and acceleration. The EV indicator comes on when driving the vehicle using only the electric motor.

Indicates that the coolant temperature is too high.
Changes from a flashing to a solid light when the engine coolant temperature increases.

High beam headlights aid driver visibility by projecting a bright beam far down the road. They should be used only in situations where they cannot blind oncoming traffic or vehicles traveling directly in front. Typical uses would be in remote areas such as mountains or deserts.

When the radar sensor detects the possibility of a frontal collision, the Pre-Collision System, including the brakes and seatbelts, automatically engages to lessen impact as well as vehicle damage.

The PCS warning light will turn on when pre-collision braking is disabled.

When greater acceleration response is desired, such as when driving in mountainous regions or passing, the POWER Mode may be used. When the POWER Mode switch is pressed, the POWER Mode indicator comes on.

The warning light will operate as follows, even when the system is not malfunctioning:

  • The light will flash quickly when the system is operating
  • The light will turn on when the Pre-Collision System is disabled
  • The light will turn on when the system cannot temporarily be used

Prius PHV-2015-{{imageAltName}}READY indicator

Indicates that the hybrid system has been started and the vehicle is ready for operation. When the READY indicator changes from a flashing light to a solid light and the buzzer sounds, the hybrid system is starting normally. The vehicle will not move when the READY indicator is off. The vehicle can move when the READY indicator is on even if the engine is stopped. (The gasoline engine starts or stops automatically in accordance with the state of the vehicle.)

This indicator light flashes after the POWER switch has been turned off to indicate that the system is operating. The indicator light stops flashing after the POWER switch has been turned to ACCESSORY or ON mode to indicate that the system has been canceled.

After activating the cruise control system, accelerate or decelerate the vehicle to the desired speed, and push the lever down to set that speed. The SET indicator will come on.

Displayed on the instrument panel, the position of the frame on the shift position indicator changes in accordance with the current shift position.

When the light comes on:
Low tire inflation pressure.

Correction procedure:
Adjust the tire inflation pressure to the specified level. The light will turn off after a few minutes. In case the light does not turn off even if the tire inflation pressure is adjusted, have the system checked by your Toyota dealer.

When the light comes on after blinking for one minute:

Malfunction in the tire pressure warning system.

Correction procedure:
Have the system checked by your Toyota dealer.

Should a safety system light such as the ABS and SRS airbag warning lights not come on when you start the hybrid system, this could mean that these systems are not available to help protect you in an accident, which could result in death or serious injury. Have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer immediately if this occurs.

Dashboard icons are displayed in a variety of colors, depending on the system and its status in a specific vehicle. Yellow icons indicate an item of importance (such as low fuel), but are not necessarily a warning.
